(More customer reviews)Over the years, refilling cartridges has gotten slightly more complex because of the chips that keep track of usage. This is my second chip resetter. The first one I bought works on an older series of cartridges.

To refill inkjet cartridges, you need a chip resetter, something to clamp onto the bottom of the cartridge so the ink does not leak out while you are filling it, something to close the hole once you put the ink in, and of course ink.

This kit falls short in a few areas. First of all, you need five types of ink. You need cyan, yellow, blue and black dye ink, and you need black pigment ink. This kit has two containers of black dye ink and tells you to use one in your pigment ink cartridge. That makes their claims of comparable quality complete nonsense. Pigment ink is used for sharp and crisp documents and the others are used for photos.

The kit contains nothing to block the bottom of the cartridges, but tells you to use the orange thing that you twisted off and threw away when you first installed your original cartridges. Fortunately I already have what I need for this part, but if you've never refilled this sort of cartridge before, stay away from this kit.

You also need to use something to seal the hole you will have to make to inject the ink. The instructions say to use the enclosed set screws and Allen wrench. My kit didn't have those and the product listing doesn't mention them either. That leaves me a few steps short of having a usable product.

Unless you already have something to seal cartridges with and already have pigment ink but need a newer model chip resetter and see this kit at a good price compared to the chip resetter alone, I'd recommend staying away from it.
